Easter Sunday marked a special First Family day out for the Obama's this year, which saw Barack escorting his wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha to church. The family attended St John’s Episcopal Church in downtown Washington D.C for a morning service.
The President was dressed in a dark suit with a light-blue tie while First Lady Michelle was wearing a magenta-colored dress and short cardigan pinned with a brooch as they walked from the White House to the church.
Daughter Malia, who is now almost the same height as her mother, wore a navy blue dress with matching jacket while Sasha sported a pretty flora number with a coordinated yellow cardigan.
'Happy Easter, everybody,' Obama called out to crowds on his way into the morning service.
The President marked the Easter holiday and Jewish Passover, calling it a 'time to celebrate redemption at God's hand'.
In his weekly radio and Internet address, Obama said the holidays helped connect Americans to their past and 'give us strength as we face the future'.
Obama said for Christians, Easter weekend is a time to reflect and rejoice about 'the things that matter most'.
This morning on the President's Twitter account was posted a photo of family dog Bo, dressed in bunny ears along with the caption: 'Bo takes his inspiration from the Easter bunny.'
The First Family will then host the 134th annual White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday.
This year's theme is Let's Go, Let's Play, Let's Move and more than 35,000 people will take part on the South Lawn for games, stories and activities.
