Reigning royalty: Equestrian Charlotte Casiraghi is the new face of Gucci
The 25-year-old equestrian already has a close connection with the luxury label as she wore exclusively designed riding gear by Gucci for two years in competitions, including the 2011 Global Champions tour.
Creative director Frida Giannini created the clothes solely for Miss Casiraghi and never made them available for retail.
However, she has obviously since realised the full potential of her muse’s selling power.
Miss Casiraghi, who is also the Honorary President of the Jumping International de Monte-Carlo, has been a fixture on the fashion scene for some time.
She featured on the cover of Vogue Paris in September 2011 and she’s frequently seen on the front rows of major shows, including Stella McCartney, Diane Von Furstenberg, Etam and Yves Saint Laurent.
Despite claiming to be a private person, she’s bound to have picked up some tips from her mother, Caroline, and her grandmother, who both modelled for style press in their heyday.
En vogue: Miss Casiraghi, who is fourth in line to the throne, featured on the cover of Vogue Paris in 2010
Of the young woman who is fourth in line to the throne of the principality, Giannini said she is: 'the modern royal whose effortless elegance defies contemporary style'.
Miss Casiraghi replaces True Blood actress Evan Rachel Wood in the prestigious role.
