Chelsea Clinton makes rare red carpet appearance with husband Marc Mezvinsky at the Met Ball

Looking classy in bright coral, Chelsea Clinton made a rare red carpet appearance alongside her husband at this year's Met Ball.
It is one of a handful of times the usually retiring Marc Mezvinsky has been seen out in public with former U.S. President Bill Clinton's only daughter.
The couple joked and laughed as they made their way into the legendary New York event.

The evening out will have provided some welcome relief for the former First Daughter, whose appearances as NBC's special correspondent have been widely panned.

 
The pair's private life is also under scrutiny - with friends of investment banker Mezvinsky recently telling the National Enquirer he had to 'schedule appointments just to see her'.

Chelsea, 32, recently wrote a forward for parenting 'manual' Talking Back To Facebook, written by her former professor James Steyer.
She wrote: 'In our house, media had its place. Media consumption, like meals, was a shared family experience.
'Those conversations helped me develop a broad and healthy skepticism about the media as well as a respect for its ability… to empower or disempower people.'
