Dykstra was jailed earlier this month for allegedly misappropriating over $400, 000 from his bankrupt estate.

The 48-year-old's actions are considered a federal crime in the US.

The former Philadelphia Phillies star was held on $150,000 bail, but seemingly had trouble raising the funds to allow for his release.

Charlie is said to have fronted $22, 000 of the bond in return of Dykstra's ongoing generosity to him.

After the actor was fired from Two And A Half Men, Dykstra tried to aid his return to the hit show by hiring one of L.A.'s top lawyers.

In 1998, he overdosed while using cocaine and was hospitalized.

After already being on probation for a previous drug offence, he was forced to have his probation extended for an extra year.

In August of the same year, Sheen pleaded guilty to amisdemeanor assault as part of a plea bargain that included dismissal of the other charges against him.

He was sentenced to 30 days in a drug rehab centre, 30 days of probation, and 36 hours of anger management.

And then in October last year, police were forced to remove Sheen from a suite at the Plaza Hotel after he reportedly caused $7,000 in damage.

According to the NYPD, Sheen admitted to drinking and using cocaine the night of the incident.

That night he was partying with porn star Capri Anderson - who alleges Sheen hurled lamps at her, choked her, lunged at her with a suspected knife and threatened to kill her.

A Los Angeles judge ruled that the actor's estranged wife Brooke Mueller should maintain legal and physical custody of the twin boys, despite a rumoured drug relapse.

Sheen had been seeking temporary custody of the boys following reports that Mueller had returned to rehab after a week of alleged substance abuse.

A source told website RadarOnline that while Mueller undergoes drug treatment at an undisclosed rehab facility, her mother Moira Fiore, will provide primary care for the boys.

Meanwhile Charlie is continuing his Torpedo of Truth tour around the US.

The former TV star had his Southern Florida crowd cheering last night when he planted a kiss on the lips of an elderly lady who was on stage during a question and answer session.

Responding to chants from the crowd who were screaming 'kiss her kiss her,' Sheen, wearing a backwards black baseball cap, obliged.

He then gave the woman a hug as one of his entourage described her as a 'cutie pie.'
