Vogue Italia has cast three plus-sized models to grace the cover of the June issue – the first time a “plus-sized” model has landed a Vogue Italia cover since 2000!
Editor Franca Sozzani recently dedicated a section of the Vogue Italia website to “curvy” women, and now she has selected models Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine and Robyn Lawley for the cover shot which was photographed by Steven Meisel. Channeling the supermodels of the 90′s, the models are kitted out in sexy lingerie and captured in stunning black & white shots. Recently, Sozzani said: “Why should these women slim down? Many of the women who have a few extra kilos are especially beautiful and also more feminine.” Now she is proving that she means what she says by placing these more curvaceous models on the cover. Finally fashion for real women!
