Get them to the Abbey on time! David and Victoria Beckham arrive at LAX for their flight home for the Royal Wedding

Yesterday he was so excited about his Royal wedding invitation that he posted a video on Facebook to talk about it.

And now David Beckham is en route to London for the big day.

The footballer, who has been given special permission by his U.S. club the Los Angeles Galaxy to attend the event on Friday, arrived at LAX airport this afternoon with wife Victoria and their three children - with each boy sporting their very own iPad.

Despite telling fans about his joy over the impending nuptials yesterday, David looked rather grim-faced as they family headed inside the terminal.

Perhaps he is anxious about getting to London with plenty of time to spare after leaving less than a day and a half to make the big event.

David, who turns 36 next week, and Victoria, 37, are bringing their three sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz with them for the trip home, though their children are not invited to the wedding.

Just yesterday David discussed his excitement ahead of his friend Prince William's wedding to Kate Middleton.

The couple received their invitation after David became close to Prince William when they worked on England’s ill-fated World Cup 2018 bid together.

Beckham spoke of his joy at the event in a video posted on his Facebook page.

He said: ‘I think a Royal Wedding, it’s amazing. It really is amazing. Our country needs it. Our country wants it. The British public love the Royal Family.’

Beckham went on: ‘I was brought up around the Royal Family and around loving the Royal Family with my granddad, with my nan.

‘I took my nan and granddad to Buckingham Palace when I got my OBE. They were so proud. It means so much to them. My granddad served his country and they were so proud of that.

‘They brought me, my sisters, my mum up around the Royal Family and to see there is going to be one [a Royal Wedding] now is exciting.’

David and Victoria are flying in from Los Angeles for the big day, and recent reports have claimed designer Victoria is fretting over what to wear.

Despite some claims that Victoria Beckham had been considering as many as 11 dresses for the wedding, friends of the star have told the Mail Mrs Beckham – who is seven months pregnant – has customised one of her own dresses for the Royal Wedding.

They claim this was always her intention after receiving the invite.

A spokesperson told MailOnline:' Victoria will be wearing a dress from her own AW11 collection for the Wedding accessorized with a Philip Treacy hat and a pair of Laboutin shoes that she collaborated with Christian to customize.'

And instead of a wedding present David and Victoria will be supporting William and Catherine's Wedding Charity.
