What's This Month's Bags Like? ( The 'IT' Bags of 2011) Part 2

2. Roberto Cavalli 'Diva' Tote Bag- (RC 40th Anniversary)

Probably the most eagerly anticipated IT bags of this season is surely Roberto Cavalli’s Diva bag. This fabulous bag has been revamped and upgraded from its 2010 predecessor and now comes in three sizes with the same characteristics in terms of style, stitching, structure and shape. The metal logo affixed to the front of the bag has been galvanised in order to achieve a ‘light-gold’ effect so that it is both subtle and discreet.

The bag comes in seven different colour ways and materials. Among the options we have brushed or glossy calfskin, denim with leather trim, canvas with python trim and jaguar or zebra prints. The roomy bag is highly practical for day to day wear and can easily be worn smart or casual. The navy blue or tan are probably my favourite options as they are chic and neutral tones which simply equal classic and timeless.

But don’t despair Cavalli fans, the lining features the familiar loud “animalier” print which adds a fun and contemporary contrast. Rachel Bilson and Kate Hudson were among some of the first celebrities to rock the redesigned tote back in November when it was available by pre order only. Now the bag is available to the general public and can be purchased for anything between £1000 (mini tote) to £3,500 (large).

The colossal birthday party and extravagant runway show were not the only way Roberto Cavalli celebrated his 40th anniversary. He also launched a new handbag – the Diva bag, which made it’s debut on the Roberto Cavalli Spring 2011 runway show two weeks ago.

Which one is your favorite?
