Making an agreement: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver are expected to reach an settlement in their divorce
But a settlement agreement has been under discussion for months between lawyers for Arnold Schwarzenegger and his soon-to-be ex-wife.
And it now looks as though Maria could walk away with more than $300m from her cheating husband.
'Arnold realizes he is to blame for the collapse of his marriage,' a source told RadarOnline.com
'Maria was a loving wife and mother, and he doesn't think that any amount of money can minimize what he has put her through.'
'He wants to do the right thing, and go above and beyond what is required of him under the law,' the source revealed.
'This is going to be a very amicable divorce, and it won't be played out in the media. Neither one of them wants that. Arnold hasn't lost his mind, he is going to be giving away his fortune to her. He wants to show his children that he is taking responsibility for his actions,' the insider revealed.
In happier times: The couple are set to divide up around $600 million
Arnold is said to be work between $500 and $700 million which means that Maria could walk away with up to $350 million - maybe more.
Arnold will also be requesting joint physical custody of the couple's two minor sons Patrick, 17 and Christopher, 13.
The couple's two daughters Katherine 22, and Kristina, 20, are both adults and therefore are not involved in the proceedings.
Custody agreement: The couple has two adult daughters and two minor sons, who will split their time between the two parents
'Laura and Bob always have a private judge handle their high profile clients. This keeps details from leaking out, and things getting nasty,' the insider told Radar.
'Once a settlement has been agreed upon, one of the lawyers will formally go to court and tell the presiding judge that an agreement has been made.'
