Armani Prive Couture: Katie Holmes Cate Blachett



It was a fashion face off today for two actresses who share the same name but very different styles.Blonde Cate Blanchett stunned on the red carpet of the Armani Privé show today in Paris in a red suit by the label.
Brunette Katie Holmes meanwhile opted for black trousers, matching tuxedo shirt and crocodile skin heels.

The actresses sat front row on either side of Roberta Armani, Giorgio's sister.
They later posed up with the designer at the Japanese-themed show, dedicated to victims of the earthquake and tusunami.
'Homage to Japan' incorporated silks and shapes culled from kimonos into the Italian designer's trademark lean, clean-lined shapes.

Strips of printed silks peeked out from slits on the back of a peak-shouldered cropped jackets in black velvet.
A pencil skirt and bandeau tops fitted with stiff architectural panels bloomed with oversized cherry blossoms.

The head wear - always inventive at Armani - was made from what appeared to be Japanese wrapping paper or an explosion of fans.
As usual, the looks were so tight it was hard to imagine anyone besides a teenage model - or Cate and Katie  - managing to wiggle into them.
