Jennifer Hudson looked great in a by-the-numbers black dress at the launch of the new Gucci Grammy watch in Los Angeles

Jennifer Hudson almost overshadowed the product she was helping to promote at its launch yesterday.
The actress showed off her slender physique in a slinky LBD at the unveiling of the latest addition to Gucci's Grammy Museum watch collection.
Jennifer, 30, joined the CEO of Gucci Timepieces and Jewelry, Michele Sofisti at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles to help launch the new watch.

She combined the short black dress with a pair of strappy gold heels and looked great in the outfit which complimented her slimmed down figure.

The actress was certainly very close to overshadowing the slick new watch which is a product of Gucci's ongoing relationship with the Grammys.
At the event Jennifer revealed that, if she had never become a famous singer/actress she would be working in a tattoo parlour.

She was interviewed at the Grammy Museum on Saturday by Bob Santelli, the director of the museum.
At one point, he asked her what she would be doing if she wasn't able to pursue a career in singing or acting.
Explaining that she has a talent for drawing, Jennifer said: '(I'd) be a tattoo artist. I want to get a tattoo. I would give you one if you let me.'

Hudson also talked about her early musical influences and about one of the highlights of her career — being presented with a Grammy by her idol, Whitney Houston.
She said: 'Who would present me with my first Grammy, Whitney Houston herself — that almost overshadowed getting the Grammy.'
The Oscar-winner also sang for the crowd at the event before a brunch catered by Wolfgang Puck.

The Grammy Museum event not only launched the new timepiece but also celebrated the partnership between The Recording Academy and Gucci, which started in 2010.
Gucci has since created watches and jewelry in honour of the Grammys, with some of the proceeds benefiting the Music Preservation Program.
Working with the company Muzak, the organization aims to help preserve music recordings.
Designed by Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini the watch's dial is created in striking colors of black and yellow, complemented with a strap in coordinating black rubber overlaid with metallic anthracite Guccissima patent calf leather.
The I-Gucci Grammy Museum is the third timepiece of the Gucci Grammy collection which includes the I-Gucci Grammy in yellow gold PVD and the I-Gucci Latin Grammy in pink gold PVD.
The watch retails for between £750-1,200.
The event was one of several held in the lead-up to the big awards show which takes place tonight.
Across town at the Soho House, Jay-Z's Roc Nation organisation threw their annual pre-Grammy brunch with Nokia.
Some of the high-profile names that showed up included Rihanna, Rashida Jones, Nicole Richie, Ellen Pompeo and Christina Milian.
