She had just won the Academy Award for best actress. But Meryl Streep was soon brought back down to earth after being shown wearing a fake moustache for a film parody shown on the Jimmy Kimmel Live post-Oscars show.
The Iron Lady star was one of a gaggle of stars who appeared in the hilarious Movie: The Movie trailer.

Another highlight of the reel was a thigh-slapping appearance by Underworld star Kate Beckinsale, who was shown in bed following a tryst with Star Wars Wookiee Chewbacca.
Dressed up in a tuxedo for his high-profile show, which was the follow-on from ABC's Oscars coverage, he was obviously very pleased with what he had up his sleeve.
After talking about how the Academy Awards remind people of the wide variety movies on offer, he said: 'The problem is you usually only get one or two genres per film.

It is billed as 'a romantically comic political action thriller drama based on the novel Push by Sapphire,' a comedic jab at Oscar nominated Precious.
And while the stream of consciousness plot made absolutely no sense, it provided an excuse to shoehorn a dazzling array of movie cliches into one tiny package.

It is billed as 'a romantically comic political action thriller drama based on the novel Push by Sapphire,' a jab at last year's best picture nominee Precious.
The trailer starts as a story about 'a guy, a girl, a werewolf,' before completely changing tack to a marriage between a secret agent played by Ed Norton and the Dubya star Josh Brolin's President of the United States.
It just continues to get more wacky, with literally dozens of star names on show.
Oscar winners Carlize Theron and Tom Hanks go head to head in an hilarious courtroom drama, where the former's judge ends up in a firefight with the latter's Robo-Lawyer.

It features Colin Farrel's expert bomb disposal expert cop being assisted by a sports playing dog, who boots a time bomb high into the sky over an American football goal, whee it safely explodes and saves a cheering crowd.
The climax is when a disabled Nasa scientist played by George Clooney has to save the day from Gabrielle Sidibe, who plays an evil 'black Hitler' intent on destroying the world by crashing into it on top of a meteor.

In between there were plenty of other celebrity cameo's, with even top flight directors JJ Abrams and Martin Scorsese proving game for a laugh.
And the host's comedy feud with Matt Damon continued as it was announced 'we are cutting from the movie' despite his appearnce as a bunch of grapes.
Matt raged: 'Are f***ing kidding me. I'll f***ing kill you Kimmel,' before storming off in disgust.
Jimmy is famed for his the big names he is able to attract for spoofs, though t6he fact he was part of Oscars night will have given him even more pull than usual.
