Meryl Streep gets a kiss on the lips from Colin Firth as she celebrates her Oscar win

As Mr Darcy in the BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice he stole the hearts of women everywhere with his broody and suave nature, and it appears that the talented actor has worked his magic on Meryl Streep too.
Colin Firth, who is not a single man, charmed his way into the Best Actress winner's heart last night and was rewarded with a kiss on the lips.
Firth, 51, was on hand backstage to congratulate the 62-year-old actor after her win and still giddy with excitement after making her acceptance speech, she planted a luvvie-style kiss on the British star's mouth.

The slightly over enthusiastic show of affection needn't worry Colin's beautiful wife Livia as Meryl and Colin are old friends.

The pair worked together on Mamma Mia, in which they played former lovers, and earlier this month Firth came to his friend's rescue at the Baftas.
The actor, who was presenting Miss Streep with the Best Actress award for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady, leapt into action as her shoe flew off as she made her way to the podium to pick up her prize.

Quickly coming to Miss Streep's aid, Firth ran to pick up her black Jimmy Choo heel and placed it gently back on her foot - earning himself another big kiss.
An emotional Streep accepted her award from her good friend last night. And in a speech in which she failed to mention the famous politician she portrayed said: 'I really understand that I'll never be up here again.
'I look out there and I see my life before my eyes.
'When they called my name I had the feeling I could hear half of America going, 'oh, no. Come on.''

She said: 'I thought I was so old and jaded, but it was just thrilling. It's like I was a kid again. I was a kid when I last won. It was 30 years ago. Two of the nominees were not even conceived!'
But, she confessed that she didn't expect to win because she presumed people were growing tired of her many cinema appearances.
Speaking backstage at the awards, she added: 'I understand Streep fatigue. It shocked me it didn't override this tonight. I have everything I've ever dreamed of in my life.'
