But heartthrob Twilight actor Kellan Lutz looked in great shape as he took part in a training session to maintain his athletic physique.
He ran in the morning before biking in the afternoon, and if he had thrown in a swimming session he would have done a mini triathlon.
However it is unlikely his legion of female fans will approve of his eccentric workout apparel.
The 26-year-old North Dakota native wore a respectable ensemble of tight black vest, knee length shorts, cap and trainers.
But he ruined the look with a ridiculous pair of knee high socks that suggested his leg development is lagging behind his impressive upper body.
The teen idol’s aggressive physical regimen helped him win a part as Greek god of the sea Poseidon in upcoming movie Immortals.
It will see him star alongside acting heavyweights including Oscar winner John Hurt and English Superman actor Henry Cavill.
In a recent interview the former chemical engineering student revealed a way his female fans may grab his attention – a deep knowledge of astrology.
He revealed that before he was a movie hotshot he would look to stars of a different kind for advice about girls.
He said: ‘I would read the horoscopes in the back of Cosmo when I was younger to see what girls like, or which girls I should date.’
And his superstitious nature manifests itself in other ways.
He said: ‘I always look at the clock at 11:11 and I always make a wish or say a prayer. I believe in stuff like that.’
Luckily for Kellan, Immortals is set to come out on one of his luckiest days, 11/11/11.
No doubt he will walk into the theatre at 11 minutes past the eleventh hour, just to be safe.
And the star, who appears as one of fellow hunk Robert Pattinson’s vampire brethren in the Twilight saga, said he is relishing the chance to get more sun now filming for the series is over.
He said: ‘I feel like I'm full of my vitamin C now. It feels amazing.’
