Tom Brady debuts another controversial hairstyle at the Met Ball, a lopsided 'faux-hawk'

Amidst the spectacular glamour of last night's Met Ball emerged a look unlike any other in the form of Tom Brady's hair.
The handsome Patriots quarterback sported a new do that has caused more than a ripple of excitable commentary across the cyber-sphere, and not in admiration for the wonky arrangement either.

In what TMZ is calling a Pompa-hawk (half pompadour, half mohawk), Brady had his famous tresses gelled to one side and swept up in an unorthodox military shape that conveniently complimented his supermodel wife's slicked back bun.

Many will be assuming that Gisele is the force behind such a bizarre choice of coif after Brady famously told New England radio host Greg Hill that he'd have to talk to her about cutting off his much talked-about long locks.


Brady though has flip-flopped in the past when it come to taking the credit for his style having also been reported as saying: 'I just like to change it up. I don't take it too seriously.'

Euro: Brady in 2010 sported a sweaty do while on the field, somewhere between the Justin Bieberesque do and the long mane for which he was ridiculed by team mates and the public

But being married to the most successful supermodel in the world who herself has an enviable mane must come with some unforeseen pressure for a man like Brady who trades on both his sporting ability and his perfectly square jawline.

Since marrying the stunning Brazilian in 2009, Brady's hair has transformed from a receding hairline to tresses that would put Samson to shame.

In fact at one time there rumours that the Patriot's star had sought treatment for hair loss.

After being spotted entering a Seventh Avenue building in New York City that rents space to many medical offices including a centre of trichology, no receptionists would, however, confirm he had visited.
Brady's cuts have ranged from the pudding bowl, to the mullet, to the 'Bieber' to the long Disney prince look and now to his latest accomplishment, the off-centre 'faux-hawk'.

The long locks reminiscent of a Disney prince were those that received the most attention not just from the press but from his own fans within the sporting world.

At one point, Bill Simmons of ESPN wrote: 'All Patriots fans made a pact to pretend that Brady's 2010 hairdo isn't happening. We're going to ignore it completely, even if his hair catches fire during a game and a referee puts it out with a challenge flag.'

His Met Ball debut has been called 'horrible' and 'weird' and one Twitter user even suggested that he was trying, and failing, to recreate the David Beckham look.

Whoever is to blame for his hairstyle choices however, thanks to his rugged good looks, he could most likely go bald and still look the part.

As receiver Brandon Tate told the Boston Herald: 'That's a grown man over there, he can do what he wants. That's on him.'
