Jason Wu for Target sold out already

Fans can't get their hands on must-have items just 24 hours after launch

The Jason Wu for Target collection was never going to be of the same scale of the Missoni line that preceded it.
But it seems the retailer has had no problem shifting products from the line, which now appears to be almost completely sold out, just over 24 hours after it launched.
Just three items are still available to buy online: a yellow cap-sleeved blouse, a pale blue blouse and a black pleated skirt.

Out of stock: The Jason Wu for Target line has almost completely sold out, just 24 hours after it went on sale
The rest are all captioned with the words: 'out of stock online' or, rather more optimistically, 'available in stores'.
And while there may indeed be some of the coveted pieces in stock at Target stores, most of the results in our search revealed that all but a few locations were out of stock too.

This, of course, could be hanks to the aggressive actions of eBay sellers, who were filmed buying the entire stock of some must-haves at a Miami Target.
A new YouTube video shows how fellow shoppers looked on in horror as a man and a woman approached the cashier with two trolley-loads of dresses and shirts.

Comments posted in response to the video reveal that the pair spent $7,000, and made no attempt to mask the fact that they were to resell the purchases.

This was despite limits, imposed by the retailer to prevent such practices, on how many of the same item a shopper can buy.
The user who uploaded the video, Zsoydaner, wrote: '2 people beat everyone in line by pulling everything off of the racks to -in their own words - RESELL outside the store!
'Target should be ashamed for letting this happen!! It defeats the purpose of designers like Jason Wu collaborating for brands like this!'

It seems eBay sellers do need to shift a lot to make a profit in this case though. Over 12,000 Jason Wu for Target items were listed on the online auction site at the last check, and, for the most part, they are going for little more than the original Target price tag.
Items worn by a celebrity still command a premium too. The $54.99 trench worn by Blake Lively at a launch party for the collection two weeks ago has a 'Buy It Now' price of $199 from one seller.
The Target collaboration is a major coup for 29-year-old Jason Wu, who sho to fame in 2008 after designing a showstopping dress for Michelle Obama to wear for an inaugural ball.
Since then, the designer, who is of Taiwanese origin, but is based in the U.S., has become a favourite with stars including Reese Witherspoon and Diane Kruger.
Though he is already a well-known name, the association with Target promises to make his star rise higher still.
