Madonna engages in a motherly show of affection with son Rocco

Madonna has and will always be, many things to many people.
On Sunday, the 53-year-old wrestled back her pop queen mantle (from Lady Gaga's clutches) at the Super Bowl with a blistering half-time performance that could only be described as jaw-dropping.
Whether you loved it or hated it, 114 million viewers tuned in to see the Material Girl strut her stuff and continued to debate it all week.

It was a triumph as far as most people were concerned, and for the woman who loves to shock, to confound... and more than anything, to have people talk about her, a resounding success.
She certainly seemed to be basking in the afterglow of a job well done as she enjoyed an evening stroll with her children in New York.
The proud mother was caught in a particularly engaging show of affection with her son by director Guy Ritchie, Rocco, eleven.

Madonna, who also was joined by her adopted children David and Mercy, has announced plans to build 10 new schools in their homeland Malawi with a new partner after mismanagement forced the pop star to scrap her first project last year.
The singer said she hoped the 10 new schools would educate at least 1,000 children a year - half of them girls.
That is double the number of children she hoped to help with her previously planned academy for girls, which was scrapped in March 2011 because of mismanagement and cost overruns.

Madonna said her Raising Malawi charity was teaming up this time with the non-profit group buildOn, which has constructed 54 primary schools in Malawi in the last 19 years.
In a statement, she said: 'I am excited that with the help of buildOn, we

can maintain our ongoing commitment to move forward efficiently.
'We will now be able to serve twice as many children as we would have served with our old approach.

'I have learned a great deal over the last few years and feel confident that we can reach our goals to educate children in Malawi, especially young girls, in a much more practical way.
'Constructing smaller schools in partnership with buildOn has restored my faith that we can accomplish what we promised we would.'
