British boyband One Direction continued their assault on America today as they performed in front of thousands of screaming fans at New York's Rockefeller Plaza.
The five-piece band - who rose to fame on the British version of the X Factor in 2010 - were mobbed by fans as they arrived on an open-roof tour bus for a live appearance on the Today show
It marked their first performance on American television.
Band members Zayn Malik, Harry Stiles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson sang three tracks - What Makes You Beautiful, One Thing and More Than This.
In between their songs, host Ann Curry asked them what they liked most about American girls.
Zayn said he and his 'four best friends' admired how 'they're very loud,' perhaps in reaction to the screaming reaction they garnered from their lively audience.
The group are already being dubbed as the next Beatles in America as their British charm continues to win over a huge fan base Stateside.
The fivesome entered the British X Factor as solo artists - but were formed into a group by Simon Cowell.
They came third place in the competition - but signed a deal with Columbia Records and are now making a global impact.
One Direction made their first U.S. public appearance in the U.S. earlier this month at Boston's Natick Mall, which saw some 5,000 screaming fans turn out.
They release their debut album Up All Night in the U.S. tomorrow.
The lead single What Make You Beautiful has already topped the English charts and won Best British Single at the 2012 BRIT Awards.
It entered at No.12 on the Hot Digital Songs Chart with 132,000 downloads in its first week.
They are booked to perform on Saturday Night Live on April 7 and will take to the stage to sing What Make You Beautiful at the 2012 Kids' Choice Awards on 31 March.
