Taylor Swift rakes in £35million in one year

Adele was thrilled when she swept the board at the Grammys last month.
But it seems her rival Taylor Swift has had the last laugh, after becoming queen of the earners according to the 2012 Billboard Money Makers poll.
She finished clear of perennial cash spinners U2 after pulling in a whopping $35,719,902 in the last year.

She made the cash after grossing $88m in the US alone, with her Speak Now tour making an impressive $29.8.
The pop country star's money making spree was further aided by US album sales of 1.8 million, and digital single track sales of 7.8 million.
And as the talented singer wrote all of the tune's for her hit album herself, she made even more thanks to songwriting royalties.

U2 managed to make an impressive $32,116,315, which comes off the back of their record breaking 360 Degrees tour.
It made an amazing $91.5 million for the year, and they also sold 1.4 million digital tracks, as the tour drew ' attention to catalogue favourites.
One blot on their copybook is the fact they sold the least amount of combined digital and physical material however.
Another country act was occupied the third spot, with Kenny Chesney total earnings coming in at $29,837,103.
Last year's chart topper Lady Gaga came in fourth this time round, though the fact she continued to do well by netting $25,353,039 will no doubt cushion the blow.

Rounding off the top five was Lil Wayne, and no doubt even fans of the hip hop hitmaker will be pleasantly surprised to know he coined in a sizable $23,178,722.
Moving down the list, past old stagers Sade, Bon Jovi and Celine Dion, it is not until the number 10 spot that arguably the year's hottest act shows up.
Adele certainly has no reason to feel sorry for herself however, as she is far from skint after making an impressive $13,081,909.
This was largely due to the impressive performance of her sophomore effort 21, which is the longest-running No. 1 album in Nielsen SoundScan's history.
Interestingly her single Rolling in the Deep is the most widely crossed-over song of the past 25 years, topping rock, pop, AC, R&B/hip-hop, dance and Latin charts.

And while throat surgery may have called a halt to her her touring schedule last October, her album sales continued to rise, reaching 6.7 million in 2011.
Other notable stars in the chart included Katy Perry, who came in at 14 with $11,969,426, 16th placed Britney Spears, who made $10,090,973 and Rihanna, who trailed in 22nd place with earnings of just $7,660,833.

Elton John's lavish lifestyle looks secure after he managed to make $11,973,990, partly thanks to lucrative stints in Las Vegas.
No doubt the flamboyant rock and roll star will see coming in at 13th place on the charts as very lucky for him.
Paul McCartney had two reasons to smile, after taking 25th place after making $6,726,519.
And he shared the spot immediately higher on the chart, with The Beatles money-spinning catalogue $6,743,863.
