Bruno Mars dominates digital download charts with the two biggest-selling singles of 2011

Bruno Mars has dominated the digital download charts racking up the top two biggest selling singles of last year.
His number one, Just The Way You Are, sold 12.5 million copies around the world in 2011.
The singer’s hit, Grenade, was the second biggest digital seller with 10.2 digital copies sold.

The next biggest seller was LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem which sold 9.7 million, while Jennifer Lopez' On The Floor sold 8.4 million.

Adele’s Rolling In The Deep sold 8.2 million and was fifth equal with Lady Gaga's Born This Way and Pitbull's Afrojack and Nayer.
Mars also had another single in the top 10 with The Lazy Song which sold 6.5 million copies.

The Black Eyed Peas ' The Time (Dirty Bit) and Maroon 5's Moves like Jagger rounded out the top 10 with 7.3 million and 7 million respectively.
The sales figures were released in the annual digital musical report published today by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
It found music fans are downloading more digital music than ever before with single track downloads up by 11 per cent and album downloads up by 24 per cent.

A total of 3.6 billion downloads were paid for around the world last year and the number of people paying to subscribe to a digital music service climbed by 65 per cent to 13.4 million, according to the IFPI.
Its chief executive Frances Moore said: 'As we enter 2012, there are good reasons for optimism in the world of digital music.
'Legal services with expanding audiences have reached across the globe and consumer choice has been revolutionised. Meanwhile momentum is building in the fight against piracy as governments and a growing circle of intermediaries engage with our industry.'
Record companies pulled in US$5.2 billion (£3.3 billion) from digital sales but the report found piracy remains a problem with more than one in four (28 per cent) internet users regularly accessing illegal services.
