Kate Middleton Celebrates Birthday With Intimate Meal

Kate Middleton

The details of Kate Middleton 's 30th birthday celebrations have been revealed to US Weekly, by a royal aide. In contrast to a story run by Grazia, the Duchess of Cambridge did not have a 1980s themed party but instead kept her first royal birthday celebration a simple one. According to the report today (January 10, 2012), she had a quiet dinner, cooked by one of her favourite chefs, which was held "within private quarters at one of the properties situated by their home at Kensington Palace."
The multi-course meal was enjoyed by Kate, along with her husband Prince William and other people close to her. The details of exactly who was in attendance at the meal have not been released, nor have any details of what Kate received as gifts for her birthday. Whilst speculation mounts regarding the likelihood of a royal pregnancy in 2012, Kate has managed to keep her private celebrations under wraps and away from the public eye.
The night before her birthday, Kate and William attended the royal premiere of the Steven Spielberg blockbuster War Horse, along with the film's stars, Benedict Cumberbatch, Emily Watson and Jeremy Irvine. The film's director suggested that the movie had moved the Duchess of Cambridge to tears and added that his wife had passed her a tissue at one point during the movie.
