The Jersey Shore crew only get as far as the airport before being told that Florence trip is off... they face filming ban in the city

In his latest move to limit the impact of the Jersey Shore cast the mayor of Florence has banned them from the city's most historic landmarks.

The decision didn't seem to have put the reality stars off as they loaded their packed suitcases into waiting cars today.

But Radar Online have reported that the trip has since been delayed, until permits to film in suitable locations in the city are in place.

The mayor of Florence, Matteo Renzi, has banned the cast from several of the city's most historic landmarks.

According to an Italian news website the city's world famous Uffizi gallery, sculpture-filled Boboli Gardens and stately Palazzo Vecchio town hall are all out of bounds for filming.

And according to the newspaper La Nazione even Mussolini's granddaughter has spoken out against the Jersey Shore cast, calling the mayor's permission to allow filming 'pure madness'.

But while Mayor Renzi has allowed filming, he has issued several dictats, which were printed in local newspaper Corriere Della Sera.

And his demands may seem wildly optimistic to even casual observers of the show.

Renzi insists that the cast will not be permitted to be filmed drinking in public or in clubs or bars that serve alcohol.

And he wants the show to promote Italy, not depict Florence as a drinking town and instead showcase it's culture and good food.

But one thing the Jersey Shore crew are sure to enjoy when they eventually get there, is their new home.

The smart-looking townhouse is set in a picturesque part of the city.
