Zoe Saldana wears a Balmain Dress that is not even out on the Runway yet at premiere of Colombiana

She's the kind of actress who takes her craft quite seriously, believing recognition for her artistry is paramount. But while Avatar Zoe Saldana is usually quite the serious type, she let herself go a little last night as she stepped out in a rather daring dress.
The 33-year-old starlet took the plunge in a stunning gladiator-style dress, which was slit almost down to her navel, at the Miami premiere of her new film, Colombiana.

The short gold and white ensemble came complete with a flowing white train and she teamed her look with some strappy black heels.
Zoe plays the role of a cold-hearted assassin in the movie who witnesses the murder of her parents as a child.
She winds up working for her uncle as a hitman as her day job, but also engages in vigilante murders that she hopes will lead her to the gang responsible for her parents' deaths.
Her part in the gritty action drama is certainly a step away from her tree-hugging role as Neytiri in Avatar.

In a recent interview with Latina magazine, the actress spoke about how fame for her is about getting recognition - not about the jet set lifesyle.
In fact, she conceded, her rise to fame in 3D movie Avatar left her quite overwhelmed and exhausted.
She said: 'The year after Avatar was just emotionally overwhelming. I was travelling all over the world, waking up in different time zones.
'Your body gets exhausted, and by the end of the year I just collapsed.'
But the she reached her lowest ebb while getting ready to make Colombiana, which is released in the US at the end of the month.

She said: 'I was in Paris training for Colombiana, sitting in my hotel room, and I couldn’t stop crying.
'I couldn't stay awake. I must have slept for an entire month.'
But the she also admitted that she could not bear to take a break and thrown away years of slog to reach the pinnacle of the acting word.
She said: 'I just want the best filmmakers in the world to tell me, 'You're good, kid, you're legit.'
'The recognition will never get old, and I'll never get accustomed to it.
'I don't ever want to, because that will mean I'm taking it for granted.
'That's why I work, not for the luxuries or the awards.'
