She has come under fire in the past for her rather patronising tone and occasionally unrealistic advice on her website Goop. So fans may be surprised to learn that life doesn't always run smoothly for Gwyneth Paltrow.
The 38-year-old actress is opening up about her seven year marriage to Coldplay singer Chris Martin, admitting that marriage can sometimes be difficult.
'I made such a good choice. He’s such a good dad. You can never be relaxed or smug and think, "I’ve got this thing."
'That’s also part of it: keeping yourself on your toes. I’m not going to take this for granted.'
The couple, who married in California in December 2003, rarely talk about their relationship.
'He makes music for his fans, and he doesn’t want people to conjure a lame famous couple when they’re getting into his music,' the actress explains. 'I get it.'
But the Coldplay star isn't the only tuneful talent in the family, with Gwyneth having made her own musical forays, performing at this year's Grammy Awards, albeit with the help of some of her famous friends.
'This story always makes me cry... It’s 10 in the morning and Beyoncé schleps it all the way down to the Staples Centre to watch. I mean, she’s Beyoncé!' she recalls.
'Beyoncé's like, "OK. The singing is great. But you’re not having any fun."
'She’s like, "Remember when we’re at Jay’s concert and Panjabi MC comes on and you do your crazy Indian dance? Do that. Be you!"'
And according to the Iron Man actress, she is now considering entering the studio to record a solo album after receiving encouragement from Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z.
But she won't be going to her musician husband for advice, telling the magazine: '[He’s] a musical genius. It’s like living with Picasso, and being like, "Should I make a little something-something?"'
According to Gwyneth, she has chosen to sign on to shorter projects like Glee to spend more time with her young family.
And she fully intends to continue writing her website, because she loves 'inspiring people.'
'People come up to me and say, "I want to have two kids and wear a bathing suit and not feel terrible about myself. I see how hard you work and it makes me feel like I can do that too."'
The star, who next appears in action thriller Contagion, alongside a star-studded cast including Jude Law, Kate Winslet and Matt Damon, appears in a larger than life Louis Vuitton outfit on the cover on the monthly magazine.
