For the past two months attention has been firmly focused on her broken foot and crutches she has been sporting. So who can blame Jessie J for trying to divert people’s gaze back up to her face - and what better way than with a startling new hair colour?
The Price Tag singer, who is known for her sharp jet black bob, has dyed her hair several shades of purple, which makes for a dramatically different look.
The singer unveiled her new look as she arrived at London’s ITV studios earlier today to make an appearance on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man show.
The new hairdo has been created to display a graduation of purple hues starting with lilac at the root blending down to a dark byzantium at the tip.
And to further highlight her new colour Jessie donned a plum lipstick which set off the colour nicely.
Jessie, who never likes to play it safe in the fashion stakes, arrived at the studios in a light-blue jumpsuit with cut out sides and a cartoon duck printed to the front.
In June the singer had injured her foot after falling from an onstage platform while rehearsing for her appearance at Capital Radio's Summertime Ball at London's Wembley Stadium.
Initially, it was thought she'd torn major ligaments in her foot and ended up with her foot strapped up following a trip to hospital, but the singer had in fact broken it.
She has been sporting a cast for weeks now and has joked on Twitter that it now takes her hours to get ready.
Jessie J has sported the same black bob with the blunt fringe since she broke on to the music scene with only one exception, when she displayed demure ladylike curls at the Glamour Women of The Year Awards at the start of June.
But the singer is set to shave her head for charity next year and confirmed to her fans on Twitter that she is more than up for the challenge.
The singer has also offered support to Cher Lloyd after critics slammed her song Swagger Jagger.
Jessie tweeted: 'Hey @CherLloyd just wanted to say hello and that im not feeling how people are making you feel! You do you girl. Dont let there negative energy ruin your happiness :) x' (sic)
Lloyd replied: 'thank you! Looking forward to meeting you in the near future. Imma fan of your stuff! Big love, xxxx' (sic)
Jessie is set to release her new single Who's Laughing Now later this month.
